Cultural and Career Awareness

The Cultural and Career Awareness component of Project PRISM focuses on the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation (CCT) and the five participating school districts that serve the reservation.  The CCT PRISM Coordinator is collaborating with the school districts to develop and offer programs for increasing an appreciation and understanding of the CCT cultural heritage and career opportunities both on and off the reservation. 

Current initiatives include the following:

·         2003-2004 career resource manual

·         "Working for a Better Future" career resource video

·         2003-2004 National Career Development Month poster contests

·         Mini-grant programs for schools serving the Colville reservation

·         Presentation, field trip, and event coordination

These projects assist with raising awareness among the public school teachers, administrators, counselors, students, and parents of the culture of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and also facilitate career awareness among them in regards to Science, Technology, Engineering & Math fields.
